MEASURING THE RING-GEAR-TO-
STOPPER-BOLT CLEARANCE
1. Remove:
• Ring gear bearing housing
(along with the ring gear)
2. Select:
Refer to “ADJUSTING THE FINAL GEAR
• Stopper bolt shim(s)
BACKLASH” on page 4-101.
2. Measure: Stopper bolt shims
• Ring-gear-to-stopper-bolt clearance “a” Thickness (mm)
Out of specification → Adjust. 0.15 0.20
