5. Check:
 • Electrode “1”                                           1. Stand the vehicle on a level surface.
   Damage/wear → Replace the spark plug.               NOTE:
 • Insulator “2”                                           Place the vehicle on the centerstand.
   Abnormal color → Replace the spark plug.                2. Remove:
   Normal color is medium-to-light tan.                     • Right side cowling
6. Clean:                                                   • Rider seat
 • Spark plug                                                 Refer to “GENERAL CHASSIS” on page 4-1.
   (with a spark plug cleaner or wire brush)                • Fuel tank
7. Measure:                                                   Refer to “FUEL TANK” on page 7-1.
 • Spark plug gap “a”                                       • T-bar
   (with a wire thickness gauge)                              Refer to “GENERAL CHASSIS” on page 4-1.
   Out of specification → Regap.                           3. Remove:
